Shepherds Pathway
Shepherds long to lead spiritual families toward becoming like Jesus in every aspect. Their lives reflect a humble confidence that Jesus will come through, and have stories that testify to that fact.
STRUGGLES for SHEPHERDS
Shepherds can struggle with hubris - the mentality that they have arrived and no longer need to learn anything. Similarly, they can struggle with underestimating a potential problem or sin issue because they trust experience more than the Spirit.
NEXT STEPS for SHEPHERDS
If connected to a church
- Find leaders and authors that represent more than just one style of leadership. In particular, find ones you disagree with and try to see their perspective.
- Stick (or return) to the basics of encountering Jesus personally and depending on him daily. He is your shepherd.
- Pray for the humility and guidance that leads to empowering others in the Spirit.
- Submit to leaders that can call you out in a loving manner. More than most, you need people who are unintimidated by your position.
If disconnected from church
- Make it an absolute priority to find a church quickly, even if it’s not a perfect fit. Pray for guidance and don’t be too picky. Google Maps view of churches in your area
- If you’re leaving a church in disagreement, either make amends to return or leave in peace, but after that, resume the church search quickly.
